What a fantastic result last night for Fulham beating Juventus 4-1, I wouldn’t normally take much interest in this mickey mouse competition, but I am hugely impressed with that score line, though they are not the up to the standard of years gone by Juventus team’s this was still Juventus, so for them to be humbled at unfashionable Craven Cottage like that earns my respect.
I must admit to being in the “anyone but Liverpool camp” because of that loser Benitez, but now I am firmly in the Fulham camp for the duration of this competition.
Roy Hodgson has done a fantastic job with that squad, and I would admire them further but for their unfortunate nickname “The Cottagers” sadly that brings disturbing images to the mind.
A huge result for Fulham. Now in a Europa Cup Quarter Final, still in the Quarter Finals of the FA cup, and still in the top half of the Premier League.
ReplyDeleteOk, so Liverpool got through too, but an easier ride so far, whereas Fulham have dispatched AS Roma, Shankter Donestk (last years Champs) and now Juventus. All of this makes it far sweeter, and more remarkable.
What you said about following Fulham's progress is not surprising, fans of other clubs are now increasingly holding Fulham as their second favourite. They are a clean family club, lowest fouls and cards in the league, a fair playing good old fashioned British club
My fear is fatigue. Fulham have played a staggering 48 games this season, more than any other Premier League club, with one of the smallest squads, and no big names and no stupid 'WAGS' hanging about.
Roy Hogson is an absolute legend, I fear big clubs will make a swoop for him. Certainly he should be up for Manager of the Season, or in there with a shout.
Despite my fear of player fatigue, something tells me Roy's army still has the legs to go on.
How do I know this? Simple...
We Are Fulham
PS. Can someone remind me if Chelsea are still on a European campaign, or has that ended?
