Moyes For Utd

I see that the press are reporting Moyes is being pushed forward by Alex Ferguson to replace him at Old Trafford when he retires, possibly at the end of next season, this does not come as a surprise to me I was of that opinion and reported it last October, http://durdensview.blogspot.com/2009/10/raphael-beneath-us.html

I reiterate what a great job Moyes is doing with very limited resources, how much better could he do with top class players and a cheque book, I am not convinced that Ferguson barring ill health will go next season so Anfield could be Moyes first stop, one thing is for certain Benitez will not be there.

Election Debate Conclusion

Having now seen the rest of last nights live election debate, it has served to reinforce my belief that David Cameron is the only real option come May 6th, Gordon Brown did not perform particularly badly last night but as well as he could perform you would still put the last 13 years down to Labour, and who wants 5 more years of the same.

It was particularly galling listening to him claiming that our armed forces were so well equipped and that Senior military commanders had told him it was the best they had ever had it, when all we the public seem to see in the media is soldiers and officers alike crying out for more equipment.

Clegg you could pick out of a line up as a liberal, his wishy washy ways are not suited to running a Country, for heavens sake in the worst period of the World’s history where Rogue nations are  trying to develop nuclear capabilities and by capability we all know it means weapons, Clegg wants us to give up our nuclear deterrent,,

I had to laugh at his proposal for criminals to stand in front of their victims and apologise, I’m sure rape victims are happy about that one,  incidentally I wonder how long a day he spends in front of the mirror practising his ridiculously theatrical hand movements.

I stand by my assertion that Cameron is the only viable choice at the moment, he talks a lot of sense, don’t be put of by his “toff” look, of the three candidates he is the closest to the man on the street.

Election Debate

I’m embarrassed to say I missed the live showing of the first ever live televised election debate this Country has ever had, but I have almost caught up with a recording of the show and am now just   a little behind as I have not watched it in it’s entirety.

I did however see the part on immigration and give the first round convincingly to David Cameron, a blind man can see we need a border police force and he is the only one advocating the need, the other two kept harping on about inward migration without really appreciating inward migration isn’t the real problem but illegal migration is.

Clegg’s regional only policy on immigration was laughable, according to Clegg once an immigrant comes into a region to fill a  job vacancy he is then not allowed to leave that region, how does he propose we enforce this, give each migrant their own policeman to monitor them 24/7?

Brown claimed the Labour policy of giving foreign nationals ID cards that they then  had to produce before they could work in this Country was effective, effective he claimed  because employers ran the risk of huge fines for employing workers without said ID cards, but he neglected to offer any information on whether there had been any instances where any action had been taken against any employer for doing so, I suspect none had or Brown would have trotted the statistics out, one thing about our Gordon is he does love a statistic.

So round one to Cameron in a convincing manner, I will offer my opinions on each part of the debate as I watch it, hopefully I will have caught up with the rest of the nation in the not to distant future.

Lin Yu Chun

Never mind singing sensation hairy angel Susan Boyle, here is a genuine singing sensation from Taiwan, Lin Yu Chun entered their version of our Britain’s got talent and blew the judges away with his version of the Whitney Houston classic I will always love you.

Not that I claim to be a music expert far from it, but even my tone deaf ear recognises talent, this kid will win the show by a mile.

Watch him in action at this link, comments welcome.

Qatari Diplomat

A Qatari diplomat sparked a security alert while on a flight from Washington to Denver overnight when he was caught apparently trying to have a sneaky cigarette in the toilet, then made a joke about a shoe bomb when confronted by airline personnel.

An air marshal on the flight reportedly tried to restrain him after he made the joke, which alarmed fellow passengers, some joke, bloody idiot.

The FBI was investigating whether the man, identified by ABC News as Qatari diplomat Mohammed al-Modadi, tried to ignite something aboard the plane. Mr al-Modadi, 27, has full diplomatic immunity as the third secretary and vice-consul of the Qatari embassy in Washington. He is described as a mid-level Qatari diplomat who has been in the US for two years.

And we thought our politicians were mad, if this is a Qatari DIPLOMAT behaving like that what does it say about the rest of his Countryman.

Swine Flu A pigs Ear

Remember my piece about the how the Government exaggerated the Swine flu outbreak http://durdensview.blogspot.com/2009/07/swine-flu.html

Well now the Government admit that they exaggerated and have been left with a £300 million pound bill for a vaccine that they will never use.

Ministers had ordered 90 million doses of the vaccine, though we are a population of less than 70 million.

If you will excuse the pun, they have made a pigs ear out of the whole thing, they say the pandemic “failed to materialise” I’m not sure if that is enough of an answer to a waste of three hundred million pounds of taxpayers money but it’s what we have learned to expect from Labour.

Roll on May the 6th so we can kick these losers out.

Lionel Messi Superman

I’m catching my breath after watching the nearest thing to a perfect football team, the side that Pep Guardiola has put together at Barcelona  is phenomenal, and  the Jewel in the crown is the pint sized genius Lionel Messi, the Argentinean is a footballing god. His single handed demolition of Barca wannabees Arsenal was breathtaking to watch.

Alongside Diego Maradona who incidentally is also Argentinean I believe you have the two greatest players that have ever lived, the frightening thing in Messi ’s case is he is only 22 years old, how much better can he become.

There are not enough superlatives around to describe Messi, the man is a superman where football is concerned, and to think that bar serious injury he has around another 10 years in him for us to enjoy,  footballers traditionally do not hit their peak till around age 28/29.

I urge anybody out there who is a betting man to put their money on Argentina to win the World cup, like Maradona who single handed won the 1986 tournament for his country Messi is that influential.
